Invitation for International Student Energy Summit - Scholarships Available!

Hi all,

Hope you're doing great and making change wherever you are! I'm writing to pass along the invitation to the International Student Energy Summit. I hope you'd take a look through, and do apply -- there are bursaries/scholarships available for students to cover the cost of the conference, and a few scholarships for all travel expenses as well. If you have any questions -- please follow up with Ivy (iwan@studentenergy.org) or Rosie (rosie@studentenergy.org) cc-ed here as I'm not involved with the event, but think it sounds like a great opportunity to be part of building the sustainable energy future we're striving for!

ISES 2011: It's here!

The International Student Energy Summit is a global, multi-disciplinary forum for students to discuss their role in the transition to a sustainable energy future.

ISES 2011: The Evolving Energy Ecosystem  will be hosted by the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada June 9-11, 2011. The event will inspire delegates to take a holistic view of our global energy system - how a diverse set of stakeholders involved in production, consumption, transportation, investment, government and academic institutions must collaborate to meet the global energy challenge. How are roles and responsibilities within the ecosystem shifting as we turn and face issues such as climate change and energy poverty? Students will also be inspired by real world examples being undertaken by UBC, Vancouver and the local clean tech industry.

This year's program will feature Dr. Rajendra Pachauri, Chair of the Inter-Governmental Panel on Climate Change and 2007 Nobel Peace Prize Winner as well as a host of CEOs, leading academic intellectuals and government leaders (click here for a full description of the program). ISES 2011 is proudly hosted by the UBC Sustainability Initiative and supported by FortisBCBC Hydro, the British Columbia Institution of Technology and the Province of BC.
