1st Call for Papers: Worldwide online Climate Conference CLIMATE 2011

1st Call for Papers: Worldwide online Climate Conference CLIMATE 2011

The Hamburg University of Applied Sciences issues the first call for papers for the Worldwide Online Climate Conference CLIMATE 2011/KLIMA 2011 (www.climate2011.net – 7-12 Nov 2011). Be part of this worldwide climate-friendly event and use this unique opportunity to present and discuss your work with fellow researchers, practitioners, NGOs and the interested stakeholders from all around the
 world!

CLIMATE 2011 is being organized in cooperation with UNEP, IPCC, WMO, the Sahara and Sahel Observatory and further world bodies. Building on the success of the previous online conferences in 2008, 2009 and 2010 with many million visitors and hundreds of peer-reviewed scientific papers, this year's interactive, free of charge online event will specifically focus on “Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management”.

We encourage researchers from around the globe, in
particular researchers from developing countries, to submit their scientific abstracts online at www.climate2011.net until 15 April 2011 at the latest to the unique CO2-friendly virtual conference, relating to one of the four following categories:

·         Category 1: Climate-smart disaster risk management
·         Category 2: Climate-smart capacity building
·         Category 3: Costs and benefits of climate-smart adaptation
·         Category 4: Climate-smart methods, tools and technological solutions

All submissions will be subject to peer review by a scientific committee - we would welcome the chance to receive a paper from you. Visit the conference home page at http://www.climate2011.net to send in your abstract and get a first glimpse of what the purely virtual conference is all about. The deadline for submission of abstracts is 15/4/2011.

Besides online publication throughout the conference week from 7-12 November 2011, the best English papers will be considered for publication in the "International Journal of Climate Change Strategies and Management" and/or the book publication "Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management" as part of the Climate Change Management Series (Springer).

Further, please note the additional opportunity to promote own climate-related projects and publications - we welcome input for the CLIMATE 2011 climate
 library and project database.
You can apply with studies/reports for incorporation in the CLIMATE 2011 website by sending an e-mail to: info@klima2011.net.

Kind regards -
