Introduction: Climate change now has become one of the most crucial environmental challenges of the 21st century. It is the main environmental problem facing humanity. “Climate” refers to the average weather experienced over a long period, typically 30 years and this includes temperature, wind and rainfall patterns. Climate change is a gradual process that happens over decades. It is the cause of the  multiplication of extreme weather events, such as drought, floods, heat and cold waves etc. Its consequences are aggravated desertification and erosion processes as well as irreversible changes in ecosystems and loss of biodiversity. Climate change and subsequent changes in the environment will affect societies in complex and broad-ranging ways as technological,
economic, social and ecological changes take place across regions, groups and sectors.

Objectives
·         Providing national information about climate change, its natural and human causes, and consequences.
·         Climate change impacts on livelihoods and poverty: a challenge for adaptation
·         Describing international mechanisms that address the challenge of climate change
·         Climate change Impacts at the local/ regional level
·         Enhancing linkages between mitigation, adaptation and sustainable development
·         Focus on Role, limitation and challenges for monitoring in mitigation and adaptation
·         To provide inputs to national decision makers for effective implementation of national & international policies
·         To provide inputs in role of engineers in innovation & implementation of clean technologies
·         Promoting dissemination of clean technologies
·         Bringing policy makers, Policy Implementers, Scientists, Engineers, Managers, Stall Holders & NGOs on one platform
